Background History
Rike Malen was born on Dantooine a lived with his parents and two older brothers.
His father and two older brothers, Mark and James, were all farmers on Dantooine
and shared a fairly large farm there. Rike was educated in a normal school but
hardly went due to the fact that he was usually at home on the farm. When he was
14 a gang sprouted up in a nearby city and started to extort all of the farms
around the city. forcing half of everything that Rike’s family made they soon
became poor and lost a lot of valuables to meet the protection money. When he was
16 they couldn't meet the cost of the protection so his mother was taken away to
their hideout. Those they don’t know for sure, in their hearts they all know that
their mother was dead or worst. So giving his three sons all he had, selling
everything, Rike’s father paid to get them off the planet.
Rike fled off too Nar Shaddaa where he got involved into crime. Going
from various gangs for a while Rike saw much death and killing. After a while
Rike found he like organized battles and crime better. He excelled at planning
and placing gangsters for street fights and ambushes. One particular time was when he lead 9 other gang members against a group
of 20 in a street fight. After losing 3 of his own men Rike had retreated with the
rest of his men into a alley full of dumpster, there enemy were using a barricade
they had made before the battle started. Seeing that shooting it out was pointless
he looked at his options: one, he could surrender and probably die, or two find
someway to get them from the barrier and into the open were they could easily be
mowed down. He looked at what was available to him, he had his blaster pistol and
a thermal detonator. He looked at the barrier, a grenade into the barrier could
easily be dodged or thrown back. He thought for a minute, the battle had died down
and had become a stand off, he saw that a huge sign loosely held up by iron rods
was just above the barricade. Rike knew what he had to do and he told his 6 men
to fire rapidly and hold the opposing gang in there barricade. The other fired
wildly at them and successfully put them down into cover. Rike used this
opportunity to get up and get close enough to throw the detonator behind the
sign. When it exploded the men inside the barricade either died under the signs
weight or rushed out. Rikes comrades didn't need to be told what to do now,
they quickly fired everything they had at them and brought them down.
Rike got into a lot of smuggling after that. He smuggled everything
from datepads to slaves. He got into more fights now then ever, some with
Imperial troopers themselfs. Rike had a realionship with a Twi'lek called,
Stenna. But it ended after Rike caught her with his comrade and shot them
both on the spot. Rike had aquired a small fortune there which he used to
impress some higher up gangsters and became a more respected and richer gangster.
Rike ran into trouble when a 100,000 credit bounty was put on his
head over shooting a gangsters son in a shoot out. Only one bounty hunter
had come but that was enough to almost bring Rike down... Rike had been
walking to home after a night of drinking when a blaster shot rang off.
He ducked to the ground and looked forthe soruce. It had come from a
completly masked figure who had two blaster pistols in his hands. He
fired again at Rike, it skimmed Rikes knee causing him to yell in pain.
Rike drew his own pistol and returned fire from behind a bench. The
shots missed, they exchanged shots for a while before the masked man
charged him with two vibroswords. Rike was still unable to hit him
and had to drawthe vibrodagger from the back of his boot and hope for
a miricle. Rike manged to block a few attacks and recived a few
scarpes but that was it. He atempted to attack back but was blocked
and countered everytime. After another minute Rike was all but dead
when another man came forward and blocked that attack meant to take
Rikes life. The mysterious man countered with a vibrosword of his
own and killed the bounty hunter.
His name was Jimmy Shoens, and quickly the two had become
friends.Jimmy taught Rike a lot about combat, both range and
close, and taught him how to use terrain in any situation to his
advantage, a skill which Rike used frequently. The two broke off
from their gangs and started one of there own. They had a few
followers and started to run a lot of smuggling and kidnapping
operations. Jimmy had been shot and killed at a police
checkpoint entering Nar Shadda. Going into a depression Rike
left his gang and joined his old one. For the rest of the time
with the gang nothing exciting had happened.
After a while he was tired of the low rate shoot outs and
sought bigger fights with the Huts. Eagerly being accept into the
huts org. he planned high up heists and attack. After another year
of this Rike figured out what he wanted to do. He want to be a
low rank officer in the Strom Trooper Crops and fight the
rebels, or maybe even a commando. So yet again he fled a planet.
Arriving at Corusant he found a recruitment post and
signed up. Later that week he was signed to Echelon Training Academy....
