The Skill: Elite Starfighter Pilot[edit]
Soontir Fel, Wedge Antilles, Maarek Stele. These names are known to everyone whom has ever dreamed of stepping into the cockpit of a Starfighter and testing their skill in battle. They are known as the best of the best, the most elite, skilled and daring pilots that the galaxy has to offer. They are, all of them, referred to by the elite title of Top Gun, and to be known by this title is to join the ranks of the very finest starfighter pilots in the galaxy. To become an Elite Starfighter Pilot is to be one of a select few, for the skills required to achieve this coveted level of proficiency are many and difficult.
To become a true Elite Starfighter Pilot, a pilot requires a great many abilities, not least amongst them the ability to react instantaneously to changing conditions, and the patience to wait for the perfect time to strike. An Elite Starfighter Pilot is an elusive opponent, well-versed in all the manoeuvres, tactics and strategies that will allow him or her to achieve an advantageous position over any foe, no matter how agile, and the dexterity and skill to be able to switch seamlessly between them.
When that perfect moment arises, an ace pilot has a good chance of striking true, but an Elite Starfighter Pilot almost never misses an opportunity to destroy an opponent, and is a crack shot, fully trained in all manner of weapons, ordnance and targeting systems. It is not enough to merely be able to outsmart an opponent; a true Elite Starfighter Pilot will also know precisely how to destroy them from multiple ranges and with multiple weapons, in new and interesting ways.

Certification Mission: "Impossible Odds"[edit]
In this simulated battle, you will fly in your currently assigned starfighter against a member of the Vast Empire Starfighter Corps whom has already earned the title of Elite Starfighter Pilot, whom will be using a TIE Avenger, a craft which most likely outperforms your own. You will be expected to demonstrate an outstanding knowledge of starfighter combat, especially evasion and targeting, in order to put in as impressive a performance in battle as possible. You are not expected to win, but your opponent WILL be the one whom decides if you pass or not, so you must impress!
Instructors will be looking for skilled, imaginative and seamless combination of the skills you have already learned and realistic, challenging portrayal of your opponents and their attempts to get the better of you. You will be marked at a higher standard than ever before, so make sure to do your very best in your missions - demonstrating knowledge of multiple manoeuvres and the fine details of targeting and the difficulties of aiming against a swiftly-moving target are absolute musts if you want to earn this title!

Skill Equipment: TIE/ad Advanced X2 "Avenger"[edit]
Building on the lessons learned from Lord Vader's own TIE Advanced X1 and the TIE Advanced X3, better known as the TIE/In Interceptor, the TIE/ad is the finest dogfighting craft ever made, combining a small target profile with a blistering array of lasers and concussion missiles, a speed that outmatches even the A-Wing, and a highly advanced targeting computer. When the traitorous Admiral Zaarin stole TIE/D Defender prototypes, only the TIE/ad Advanced was powerful and agile enough to take the traitors down.
Have no doubt, this craft is only issued to the very best pilots, and with your newfound agility, mobility, precision and sheer destructive potential, you will earn the respect, envy and fear of your fellow pilots - and you'll be able to fight on equal footing with even the best-equipped opponent, as you fly the descendant of Lord Vader's own custom fighter.

You are now Certified as an Elite Starfighter Pilot, the highest tier of proficiency for any Starfighter pilot seeking to become skilled in the art of dogfighting. There is no higher pinnacle to rise to in this field of expertise - you can count yourself as one of the best.
From here, you can take your skills and improve them by combining them with another cert. Combining Elite Starbomber Pilot will make you capable of chewing up and spitting out Fighters and Capital Ships with equal impunity, whereas learning Electronic Warfare will make you the ultimate ambush predator in space.
You're one of the best, but you can still get even better!
