Geographic Features

Most of the planet, especially surrounding the capitol is war-torn and unusable for agriculture. Those parts of the planet not involved in the civil war have not been accessed by the Vast Empire.

Flora and Fauna

No knowledge of the plant and animal life of the planet is known, as much of the planet is a war-torn battlefield. Those locations that may contain wildlife are outside of the Vast Empire's range of jurisdiction.

Inhabitants

Mainly consisting of humans, the planet of Dastoria is in a state of civil war, as it has been for the last several years. Little else is known about their culture.

Government

Traditionally the planet of Dastoria was run by a monarchical government, though it has recently gained a reputation as a planet wracked with political turmoil. The current situation is a prime example as the current king, Suicul Suitimod Subraboneha has been arrested, the palace captured, an interim president by the name of Major General Suiluj Raseac.

History

A Planet at War

The planet has been at civil war for as long as most of the inhabitants can remember. Although a monarchy, the government has been victim to numerous revolts by the populace over the years.

Contact with the Vast Empire

Upon discovery of the planet, the Vast Empire took an interest in them and aided in the quashing of yet another revolt. In quelling a previous insurrection and more or less maintaining order on the planet, the monarchy rewarded the VE by granting them control of the planet's affairs, exclusive trading, free shipping and escort protection, and full control of all funds collected through very high tariffs on products and shipping that do not originate from VE controlled areas and facilities.

Current Situation

Dastoria is once again in the midst of a civil war though this one appears to be much more dangerous. Rather than a single faction staging a revolt, the monarchy is under attack from not only the general populace, but and oligarchy of corporations, aristocrats, and potential foreign investors as well also look to wrest control of the planet. To make matters worse, the oligarchy is being funded by the nearby Livic system, while the New Republic has chosen to back the ever dangerous populace revolt in hopes of further upsetting the balance of the planet. In response, the Vast Empire has stationed a garrison of troops on the planet in order to combat the uprisings. A mission was also initiated to rescue the king, though the results were inconclusive.
