Biography[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Like all members of her species, Irya Pael also shares the same pale skin, silvery hair and white, empty eyes. Although she's 53, the woman looks much younger thanks to various treatments she underwent - some messing around with her metabolism and others actually changing part of her genetic code.

Also like many members of the Arkanian species, Irya likewise decided to further improve herself through science. Multiple cybernetic implants are found scattered throughout her body - some help her see better, others provide her with a high resistance to poisons and other pathogens whilst others still help speed up her healing rate. Most of these implants remain hidden and a couple of them don't even appear on X-rays or similar scans.

The woman is not particularly interested in what the rest of the galaxy thinks about her and as a result she does not pay much heed to what she wears... or how she talks and behaves either for that matter.

Personality[edit]

Very intelligent. Brilliant by some galactic standards. Irya Pael has a very in-depth understanding of some rather difficult concepts, including but not limited to biology and chemistry - in particular anatomy and genetics. She also has an above average understanding of electronics and computers too.

Given her personality as well as also considering her past exploits, Irya Pael could easily be considered a sociopath. A dangerous one at that, having the necessary knowledge to lead to any number of terrible outcomes...

Although she lacks empathy herself, Irya still understands how the process works. She has also been known to fake it on one or two occasions in order to get what she wanted.

She's very manipulative, a feat made easier for her by her superior intellect and decent instincts. If there is something she wants, odds are pretty high that she'll eventually get it somehow.

Irya's also a very curious and inquisitive individual. She's bothered by the things she does not understand and thus makes an effort to change that. This though often involves painful experiences as far as others are concerned...

Although she believes herself to be the next logical step in evolution, she does however admire and to some extent even respect the opinions of others that have proven themselves worthy of her notice.

History[edit]

Little is known about Irya Pael's history before she became a galactic known and feared criminal... It is known that she was raised on Arkania, where she graduated from the planet's top university. It is unknown what she did for the next decade or so but when next she surfaced she was located all the way in the Outer Rim and was wanted for crimes such as genocide. Whether working for various governments, large companies or simply herself, Irya had always managed to leave a large trail of bodies in her wake.

When the various law enforcement agencies and bounty hunters started breathing down her neck, the woman decided to get some help. It was a partly a matter of luck that she chose the Vast Empire's spooks to help her achieve her goals - of both disappearing as well as helping to further continue her research. It was a mutual beneficial deal though, if not for the fact that she sort of ended up becoming a prisoner in the process. A prisoner with a great deal of freedom granted, but a prisoner nevertheless...

When the opportunity to get out and retake her freedom presented itself, Irya Pael did not hesitate. She betrayed her former protectors and instead made for the stars. She did well for a time... until she made a small mistake and got caught by another Remnant faction. Then Irya ended up being shipped to the penal colony of Tar Tah Roos where she was to spend the remaining days of her life.

Thankfully it wasn't long before a team of VENI agents and mercenaries found their way on the very same moon. Combining her intellect with the colony's leader brawn and also the skills of the VENI agents, it took only a week for everyone involved to break out into the vast galaxy. Although she could've done anything, Irya decided to stick around the other former convicts, Kayrax included.

When the latter was asked to join a VE ship, Irya Pael was unsure what to do next. When she too was asked to join the same ship though, the Arkanian woman decided to go for it. She'd be less of a target on a moving ship, especially a military vessel at that, and she'd also have more opportunities to leave should she so decide in the meantime... Either way, it felt like a good call - if only just a temporary one.
