Overview[edit]
- "Chained by neither laws nor morals, flying true and dying free!"
- ― Rosh Kayryht, original owner of the CcLC Unchained
The ship however never once flew under its intended captain, nor even for its intended purpose. Through a series of occurrences, the Carack-class Light Cruiser ended up in the hands of Seth Qorbin - closest friend of Rosh Kayryht, as well as the inheritor to the latter's criminal empire involving mostly smuggling, thieving and on the rare occasion even piracy.
The Unchained is subject of a great deal of rumors and much speculation - Where did it come from? Who are its crewmen? Where does it get its orders from? Just why in the blazes is it golden rather than the regulation metallic grey? Neither the Unchained's crew nor the staff from VENI deem fit to answer any of these questions however, both sides instead preferring and even profiting from the uncertain nature of the ship...
Characteristics[edit]
- "She's purring like a kitten."
- ― Helen Kraus, Chief Engineer aboard the CcLC Unchained
The Unchained uses the standard anti-fighter configuration, being armed with ten heavy turbolasers (4 fore, 3 port, 3 starboard), five tractor beam projectors (1 fore, 2 port, 2 starboard) and no less than twenty laser canons (2 fore, 4 port, 4 starboard, 2 aft, 4 ventral, 4 dorsal). Though not a serious threat to larger capital ships on its own, the sturdy ship is still a formidable opponent when pitted against similar or smaller classes. Whatever the Carrack cannot shoot down, it likely can either avoid or outrun. The Unchained in particular uses an advanced sensor mask that increases the odds of both attacking and fleeing.
Other modified systems include an expensive Hologram Projection Pod which allows the ship to keep in contact with the civilized worlds from anywhere and at any time, a 220-SIG Tactical Sensor Jamming Device which allows short range sensors and communication disrupting, as well as a few minor upgrades in most of the ship's miscellaneous systems. Though not the most powerful, nor the toughest, nor the fastest nor even the stealthiest cap ship in existence, the Unchained does a pretty good job combining all those strengths in order to get the job done.
Crew[edit]
Command Element[edit]
Captain[edit]
Just as the name implies, the Captain is the most important person aboard the Unchained. He has final say in any and all matters, life and death included, and can only be opposed by the First Officer - preferably in private. All persons on board, including officers and crew, other shipboard staff members, passengers, guests and pilots, are under the Captain's authority and are his ultimate responsibility. Aboard the Unchained, the Captain does not supervise any of the three standard shifts unless he so feels inclined to at the respective time.
Rank | Name | Species & Gender | Age | Notes |
Seth Qorbin | Human male | 27 | The man, the boss, the alpha hound |
- "Come, share a drink with the living dead!"
- ―Seth Qorbin
Acting as the Unchained's Captain is Seth Qorbin, a spacer born in 13 BBY on the planet Onderon in the Japrael system. The man's shady background, involving smuggling and a bit of piracy, did not prevent him from joining the Vast Empire. He quickly graduated top of his class at the Academy and next rose through the ranks of the Starfighter Corps until he became a Wing Commander, as well as a genuine ace. It is not entirely clear how the man came to command a warship, though the general assumption is that it has something to do with the classified portions of his service record.
First Officer[edit]
The First Officer, also known as the Executive Officer or the First Mate, is the second most important person aboard the Unchained. His job is to do anything the Captain usually does when the latter's not around. He alone has the right and privilege to confront the Captain and question his sanity and ability to lead. It is the XO's duty to counsel the Captain in any of the more serious matters. Also, it is usually the First officer who supervises the Primary Watch.
Rank | Name | Species & Gender | Age | Notes |
Kaylee Talix | Human female | 27 | Officer in charge of Primary Watch |
- "It will be done!"
- ―Kaylee Talix
The Unchained's XO is Kaylee Talix, a decorated VE officer whom not much is know about other than the fact that she has strong ties to the Vast Empire's Naval Intelligence agency. Even if her service record doesn't speak much for the woman, her leadership skills as well as quick thinking and resourceful nature are all but apparent to all members of the crew. Seth Qorbin may be the one commanding the ship, but it is Kaylee Talix who actually knows almost everything that goes on it. Given the Captain's unique style of leading, it is also Kaylee Talix that the crew most often expects to receive orders from.
Second Officer[edit]
The Second Officer, or Second Mate, is next in line of command should both the Captain and the XO not be present aboard the ship. Though it's the XO's job to ensure the Captain is fit to lead, it is however the 2O's job to remind both higher officers of the crew's wants and needs. It is also the Second Officer's job to macromanage most issues related to the ship's personnel. He usually supervises the Secondary Watch.
Rank | Name | Species & Gender | Age | Notes |
Mors Rivek | Human male | 39 | Officer in charge of Secondary Watch |
- "What do you need?"
- ―Mors Rivek
Mors Rivek is a known Onderonian smuggler, as well as Seth Qorbin's old friend. The two used to work together when part of the same organization, and despite his questionable past - as well as current decisions - nobody can doubt the man's loyalty to the Captain. He is the man that supervised the ship's acquisition as well as its subsequent upgrades. He is also the man who brought a fair deal of the crew along for the ride. Most importantly though, he is the man that makes sure that the Captain has enough booze to go around...
Third Officer[edit]
Though not a position unique to the Unchained, the Third Officer is usually a decorative title only, and not one actually implying more authority and responsibilities. Aboard the Unchained however, it is the 3O's job to ensure that the ship runs smoothly by coordinating with the various Department Heads. If the Second Mate's duty is to ensure the welfare of the crew, the Third Officer's task is to explain exactly what the ship can and cannot do. The 3O is the one having to supervise the Graveyard Watch.
Rank | Name | Species & Gender | Age | Notes |
Xen'al Xennis | Human male | 32 | Officer in charge of Graveyard Watch |
- "We won't survive another blast, I suggest we pull out..."
- ―Xen'al Xennis
Xen'al Xennis previously served as Chief Engineer aboard an ISD-II. The man's technical expertise regarding various warships and ship systems is considerable, but then so is his overprotective nature as far as the ship's safety and integrity are concerned. The Human male is neither a coward nor a fool, choosing to instead think of himself as an often misunderstood genius. His arrogance and cocky attitude aside though, the Unchained's 3O has come through time and again during various engagements - in so doing proving to the crew that his position is well earned.
Deck Officers[edit]
Spread across the ship's surface, the Deck Officers ensure that the regular crew is doing its job - and is doing it properly too. They're the ones relaying information to and from the Bridge and are held directly responsible for whatever occurs in their assigned area of the Light Cruiser. Only the Department Heads bear a greater responsibility than them. Their paychecks are also fatter as a result.
- "Come on... Move it! Move it!! Move it!!!"
- ―Deck Officer encouraging the crew to work faster
Deck Officers are serving men and women who help ensure the ship runs smoothly. They supervise the crew in the various areas of the Unchained and ensure nothing happens on their watch. They hold no specialized role, and instead rotate around the ship as needed. Though not as experienced in any one field, Deck Officers tend to accumulate enough knowledge to get by regardless of the position they're placed in. Department Heads as well as the top three officers aboard a ship are typically chosen from their ranks. Above all, they are asked to act as examples to the crew.
Bridge Element[edit]
Pilots[edit]
When the Ship's Captain picks a destination, it falls to the Pilots to take the vessel there in one piece. The Unchained's skilled Pilots are trained to work in teams, one team per each of the three standard shifts.

- "It's okay, I'm a leaf in a shit storm!"
- ―Reeza Hayek
Military pilots, civilian pilots, even pirate pilots - Seth Qorbin ignored all their backgrounds and instead picked the Unchained's flying crew based on nothing save skill. Whether it's catching up to another ship, maneuvering through an asteroid belt, making a desperate run for safety or simply evading a Star Destroyer's threatening turbolaser salvos... well, the Unchained's pilots and copilots can do them all. Better still, they can do those things with grace and style. Reeza Hayek in particular seems to be a sort of prodigy, being able to fly the ship in ways the Carrack designers likely never thought possible.
[edit]
It is the Captain who decides where to take his ship and the Pilots who actually take it there, but it is the Nav Officers whom inform them all on exactly how to get there... and not end up crashing in a moon's surface, melting in a sun's corona or being swallowed up by some previously charted black hole. The Navigation Officers are thus fairly important crewmen, and at least one of them is always found on the Bridge.

- "Trust me, it's a shortcut..."
- ―Zurr Zass
Zurr Zass is the ship's primary navigator, the Duros having flown around the galaxy on more than a few occasions. Of the three navigators aboard the Unchained he is the most experienced one. Alik Kyak replaces him during the Secondary Watch, the Sullustan not bad himself. A former pirate slave, the alien never stopped enjoying the soothing sensation brought about the jump and subsequent travel through hyperspace. Though not as knowledgeable as the two Near-Humans, Akaine Terrran is nevertheless useful - particularly when it comes to smuggler routes spread across the major sectors of the galaxy. Between the three of them, the Unchained's travels are kept fairly safe and uneventful.
Communications Officers[edit]
The Comm Officers have a bunch of tasks aboard the Unchained. They must ensure smooth communication within the ship itself, monitor incoming and outgoing messages, encrypt or decrypt them if so asked by the Captain or the XO and if the situation calls for it also jam other ships. They're also expected to be able and translate most of the alien messages into Galactic Basic.

- ―Karlena Noron
First and foremost, the comm operators aboard the Unchained are tasked with the maintenance and well functioning of the ship's intercommunication systems. In other words, they ensure that command personnel from the Bridge can get in touch with the crew scattered throughout the ship and vice versa. They also check and make sure that no unwanted messages either enter or leave the Unchained. Hailing other ships and opening channels to planetary outposts is also part of their job. When the Toy Box is in use, it's their job to ensure that nearby ships can no longer coordinate or even send distress signals and the like. The Comm Officers work in groups of three - one group per standard watch schedule.
Sensors Officers[edit]
The Unchained has suffered a few upgrades to its sensors systems and to take advantage of this advanced equipment are the Sensors Officers. Their job is to monitor the emissions from their own ship, as well as sniff out those belonging to other ships. They're also expected to listen in for signs of these other ships and warm the Unchained's crew ahead of time. It is also their job to ensure that the sensor mask is working properly and achieving its intended purpose.

- ―Gann Tryhek
The Sensors Officers have a fairly stressful job, being expected to never let their guard down and instead always be focused and alert. They must monitor the ship's emissions when so asked by the Captain or the Officer in charge, but more importantly they must be ever vigilant in order to detect approaching ships - as well as their class, their speed, their likely destination and if possible their offensive/defensive capabilities and any cargo they may be carrying. What sets the Unchained apart from other warships are its sensor mask and sensor jamming devices. The former makes the medium sized ship seem smaller and thus harder to detect. As for the latter - it is capable of jamming any nearby ship's sensors and comm systems, giving the Unchained a valuable advantage in a fight.
Systems Element[edit]
Master Gunner[edit]
Despite its diminutive size, the Unchained is still a warship nevertheless. As such, one of the most important positions aboard it is that of Master Gunner - the individual in charge of all the ship's weapon emplacements, be them turbolasers, lasers or tractor beams. If something needs shooting this is the person that the Captain comes to talk to - or just orders around through the ship's comm systems.
Rank | Name | Species & Gender | Age | Notes |
Solomon Dredd | Human male | 32 | In charge of Gunnery |
- "Shoot till they stop moving... and then shoot them some more!"
- ―Solomon Dredd
Solomon Kane is a regular military career man who has known nothing save the discipline and responsibilities instilled in him by the various Navies in which he served throughout time - Vast Empire's Navy being the latest one. The Human male enlisted as soon as he was able to and rose through the ranks of regular crewmen till he made ship gunner - first for laser cannons, then for ions, tractor beams and finally even the heavy turbolasers carried by the huge Star Destroyers. Unlike some of the Unchained's other crew members, Solomon Kane was already a Master Gunner aboard a Victory-class Star Destroyer. It is unclear why the man accepted the same position on a smaller ship. Scuttlebutt mentions some personal debt that had to be paid to either the Captain or the XO...
Gunners[edit]
The Master Gunner may be the officer in charge of all the ship's weapons, but it's the gunnery crew that actually mans the big guns - providing targeting solutions and pressing the shiny red buttons during combat engagements as well as cleaning and calibrating them when not having anything better to do. They're amongst the happiest members of the crew...
- "Like shooting womp rats in a barrel..."
- ―Gunner aboard the Unchained
As a precaution, there are always more gunners than actually needed aboard the Unchained. They usually rotate around though so as to gain experience with other weapon emplacements as well. When the ship is not currently engaged in battle, droids permanently ensure that the gunnery posts are never left vacant. To further improve their accuracy and response time, these droids have also been slave linked together, making them quite useful obstacles against predictable flight paths and recognizable maneuvers. Between these droids and the organics in charge of the ship's guns, the Unchained has little to worry about.
Chief Engineer[edit]
The Chief Engineer is in all likelihood the busiest person aboard the entire ship. His job is to keep the 350 meters vessel running properly at all times and that is one stressful job. Traditionally he is a good friend of the ship's Doctor and also a close collaborator of the Third Officer.
Rank | Name | Species & Gender | Age | Notes |
Helen Kraus | Human female | 34 | In charge of Engineering |
- "Believe it or not, this damn gun still needs calibrating!"
- ―Helen Kraus
Formerly a ship designer with a brilliant future ahead of her, Helen Kraus never hesitated for a moment when the opportunity to change her desk job for her current position aboard the Unchained was presented to her. Whether she is still satisfied with her decision back then or not is unknown. What is however well known is the fact that the Human female works tirelessly to maintain and at times even improve the various systems aboard the Light Cruiser. She is one of the most respected members aboard the ship and the crew generally knows better than to waste her time with trivial concerns.
Engineers[edit]
Working under the Chief Engineer's close supervision are the ship's many Engineers that are scattered throughout the ship and whom constantly survey, check and double check all its systems. It is the Engineers who manage to actually keep the ship running and whom are expected to fix, jury rig or at the very least promptly identify and isolate a problem. Their technical knowledge makes them invaluable members of the crew.
- "Sonic screwdriver! ... Fusion cutter! ... Duct tape! ... More duct tape!!!"
- ―Unknown engineer aboard the Unchained
The ship's engineers constantly walk around and check the various systems of the Unchained. They check, double check - and when they really want to waste time, as well as maintain the appearance of busy individuals - even triple and quadruple check those systems. If no problems are found they move on to different systems. And if by any chance some issue is discovered then they call in, request additional help and try to fix it. Sometimes they like finishing off really fast - especially if there are officers closely observing. Other times however they enjoy "fixing" the problem for hours at a time, thus further making it seem like they're absolutely vital members aboard the ship...
Technicians[edit]
Also working directly for the Chief Engineer are the Technicians. The difference between them and ship Engineers is that the latter tend to know more and generally prefer not getting their hands dirty. Technicians on the other hand tend to be experts in a certain field and have no qualms whatsoever about crawling through the ship's vents and maintenance shafts in order to replace a burnt processor or some faulty wiring. Not as respected as Engineers, but certainly just as vital...

- "Argh! You want me to go crawling through the ducts again!"
- ―Random technician aboard the Unchained
No crew member knows the ship's insides better than a technician. A technician can swiftly navigate the ship from any one point to another using nothing but narrow shafts, stuffy vents and quite possibly hazardous obstacles including but not limited to freezing or boiling temperatures, frying electricity and possibly lack of breathable atmosphere. A technician is trained to deal with any and all such possibilities. A ship technician can also live for days on end in the ship's innards before anyone realizes he/she is actually missing - at which point more technicians are sent in to find him/her.
Doctor[edit]
The ship's Doctor is in charge of the whole Medical Department aboard the Unchained. Unlike a regular Medic, the Doctor's duties tend to deal more with administrative or research concerns. Only the ship's Doctor can declare or lift a quarantine and only he can declare the ship's Captain as either fit or unfit for duty."

- "It will only sting for a second... then burn for a couple of hours."
- ―Irya Pael
There is little doubt that the most unstable crew member - as well as possibly the most dangerous one of them all - is none other than the ship's Doctor, Irya Pael. The Arkanian woman is positively brilliant and in all likelihood quite mad at the same time. The genetically and cybernetically self improved alien has done things in her past that would make most civilized beings shake in fear or at the very least tremble in disgust. The woman ended up seeking refuge with VENI and things were going well too... until her help was sought out for Operation Counterpunch. That's when things took a turn for the unexpected and somehow Irya Pael found her way aboard the Unchained.
Medics[edit]
The Medics are crewmen specialized in promptly diagnosing and treating various symptoms. You feel tired all the time? Go see a Medic. You have a cold that just won't go away? Go see a Medic. You fooled around and think you caught something? Go see a Medic. You got in a brawl with another crew member? Go see a Medic - and then the Chief of Security. You got stabbed, shot or blown up by a close range explosion? Stop wasting time and run, walk, limp or crawl to a nearby Medic!"

- "I don't know how that got stuck in there..."
- ―Anonymous patient aboard the Unchained
The ship medics are responsible for keeping everyone healthy and able to properly perform their jobs. They're trained to treat anything from the common flu, minor - or less than minor - headaches, food poisoning, bruises, cuts, fractures, limb reattachments, organ transplants and even some of the nastier intimate diseases that the Unchained's crew could possibly contract. The surgeons only operate in properly equipped infirmaries, but the combat medics and first aiders can aide the crew both in other areas of the ship as well as when deployed on missions. Specialized droids are usually available to provide support whenever needed.
Chief of Security[edit]
Contrary to popular belief, the ship's Captain isn't the most feared person aboard the Unchained. The Chief of Security is the one enjoying that privilege. It is his job to ensure order and discipline are maintained at high standards at any time and in any location - around the corner, inside a maintenance tunnel or even inside the restrooms. Aside from keeping an eye on the crew and dishing out punishments when necessary, it is also the CoS's duty to ensure the Captain's own protection, both inside the ship and out.

- "I know what you're thinking — "Did he fire 300 shots or only 299?""
- ―Kordo Sinfest
Former law enforcement, former Imperial soldier, former bounty hunter, former New Republic mercenary - Kordo Sinfest, better known to the rest of the galaxy as simply RedTape, is the sort of man that quickly adapts to new circumstances and does his best to make the most out of them. The reason he and his small group of mercs decided to join Seth Qorbin aboard the Unchained is because the latter agreed to pay them a high enough paycheck to keep them all around. The ties between them are thus not those of duty or loyalty, but rather of plain, good old fashioned greed. Still, it is a business relationship that works great for all the parties involved.
Guards[edit]
The security personnel aboard the Unchained - or Guards as they're called by crewmen when panicking or in trouble - are the only members of the crew that are allowed to carry weapons at all times and in any areas of the ship. Exceptions are made for the high ranking officers, as well as during combat engagements when the Quartermaster may see fit to arm the rest of the crew as well, but other than that it's the Guards who are tasked with keeping the peace, protecting the VIPs and ensuring no trespassers make their way in any restricted areas of the Light Cruiser.
- "Halt! Who goes there?"

Support Element[edit]
Quartermaster[edit]
The Quartermaster, known properly as the Logistics Officer but almost never actually addressed as such whilst aboard the Unchained, is the individual in charge of a whole lot of things. It's the Quartermaster's job to determine what the ship needs and then ask the Captain to get said things. It's also his job to constantly monitor the ship's stocks of food, munitions and all sort of other miscellaneous cargo. No foreign objects can be brought aboard the Unchained without the Quartermaster clearing them first. He's also responsible for the armory - being one of the six total officers that have access codes to open it (other five being the Captain, the first three officers and the CoS).

- "Move along now..."
- ―Kayrax
Cold, calculated and unbelievably efficient. Dangerous and deadly too when crossed. That's how Kayrax, the ship's Quartermaster, could best be described by anyone who spent at least a standard hour in his presence. No small talk, no wasted movements, no distractions whatsoever - the Feeorin specimen is not the friendly sort. He is however the kind of individual that you can count on to get things done and properly maintain discipline aboard the Unchained. He's not particularly liked by the crew, but he is however trusted and respected by it.
Cooks[edit]
The Unchained is a vessel carrying over a thousand crew members aboard. Needless to say all these crewmen need to be fed and that's where the Chief Cook, other Cooks as well as Galley Assistants come in. Their job is to not only provide healthy nourishment to the crew but also try and make it delicious nourishment as well. The latter does not always work out unfortunately but even so one thing is certain - the food aboard the Unchained is in many ways superior to that of other military vessels thanks in no small measure to the Captain and the strings he had pulled to get certain things done.

- ―Lukas Berran
These men and women are positively vital to the crew's morale. One could even argue that the crew only behaves as well as the food that they're being fed. At least that's the impression that the cooks seem to have about their line of work... Just in case that assumption is not entirely false however, the ship's Captain has agreed to spend quite a few more creds than normally needed on food ingredients and food processing equipment. This allows the ship's officers to enjoy various galactic delicacies - which once or twice a week they even share with the rest of the crew...
Yeomen[edit]
Yeomen are essential crewmen without which the most important officers would no longer be able to function properly. Yeomen are needed to clean and tidy their rooms, bring them food, deliver personal messages and generally do anything else that the officers ask of them. Some are used mostly as servants, others as secretaries, others still as informal counselors. No matter what's asked of them, Yeomen are expected to do it all - with a smile.

Helped out by the serving droids, it is the yeomen's job to care for the needs of the ship's officers. The most important officers have yeomen caring solely for them, whilst the lesser officers are forced to share the services of the remaining ones. Still, thanks to expert planning, this is hardly an issue aboard the Unchained. Though yeomen cannot make military decisions on behalf of the ship's officers, they can however act as unofficial representatives for the latter. At least such is the case with the Captain's, XO's, Quartermaster's and a few other officers' yeomen.
Senior Crewmen[edit]
Senior Crewmen are the members of the crew that have acquired a bit of experience in various departments, but that have not however managed to get assigned to any of them as permanent members. They're scattered throughout the ship, lending a helping hand and being lent out as necessary.
- "There is nothing more enticing, disenchanting and enslaving than life in space."
- ―Celric Talel
The Unchained's senior crewmen are men and women who are for all intents and purposes considered reserves or apprentices in the ship's various departments. Should some untold tragedy strike and kill off most of the officers and specialized personnel aboard the ship, then it falls to the senior crewmen to pull things together and try to fix the situation. Nobody really expects much from them but then again nobody would really want to navigate without them either.
Regular Crewmen[edit]
The regular Crewmen aboard the ship are still fairly green as far as most naval things are concerned. They do have good intentions and are eager to learn however, hence why they're kept around. That and the need for someone to actually deal with all the physical labor around the Unchained.
- "The chances of mistakes being made are about equal to the number of crew squared."
- ―Unknown crewman aboard the Unchained
No ship's crew can be complete without the presence of regular crewmen - men and women who are almost entirely unreliable in any position of importance, but that are still technically needed in order to keep the ship running. Crates need moving around? Call a crewman. A vaccine's side effects need to be tested out? Use a crewman. Sentient sacrifices are required to get out of a tight spot? Consider the crewmen. The crewmen are in other words expendable individuals that are only taken along to be used for mostly physical and menial tasks that nobody else can otherwise be bothered to perform.

Nightmares Flight[edit]
The four TIE/ad Avengers locked on the exterior racks of the Unchained fly under the Nightmare designation. Each and every single pilot in the flight is a proven ace that the Captain brought with him upon his departure from the SFC.

- "Certain lines should not be crossed!"
- ― Wyvern Company motto
Most Carrack-class cruisers serving in Imperial Navies across the galaxy utilize a regular Stormtrooper company to use mainly in boarding and counter-boarding operations. Given the mission profile of the Unchained however, a Special Missions Company was selected for this ship. That means a total of 3 Special Missions Platoons and an extra Augmented Scout Platoon to be used in order to complete most probable scenarios that may be encountered in their voyages. The company serving aboard the Unchained is called Wyvern and is being led by Kyra Katarn.

Droids[edit]
Class One Droids[edit]
Quantity | Model | Notes |
24 | 2-1B Surgical Droids | Medical droids |
8 | GH-7 medical analysis units | Medical droids |
Class One Droids are droids designed with a medical functioning in mind. They are deployed both within the ship's infirmaries as well as in the field if the need arises. Though lacking the common sense of a sentient being, these droids make up for that flaw with sheer knowledge and precise operation.
Class Two Droids[edit]
Quantity | Model | Notes |
40 | EG-6 power droids | Power droids |
20 | LE-series repair droids | Repair droids |
100 | MSE-6-series repair droids | Repair droids |
40 | R6-series astromech droids | Astromech droids |
5 | S9-series heavy power droids | Power droids |
Class Two Droids aka utility droids are used for all manner of activities around a ship. The power droids are used to quickly charge things as well as act as temporary back-up generators in case of power shortages. The repair droids can easily be deployed in otherwise inaccessible places as well as locations where organics would not be able to function - such as the vacuum of space. As for the good ol' fashioned astromechs? Those little fellows can perform all manner of roles. Usually not as well as a sentient being but not really all that bad either.
Class Three Droids[edit]
Quantity | Model | Notes |
12 | BD-3000 "Betty" Luxury Droids | Attendant droids |
24 | FIII Footman droids | Serving droids |
24 | Gyrowheel 1.42.08-series recycling droids | Recycling droids |
Class Three Droids are not usually found aboard ships, save perhaps luxury liners. They are hardly ever found on military vessels, unless perhaps they accompany a really high ranking official or some similar scenario... Because of Seth Qorbin's eccentricity, as well as personal funds, a number of these droids were brought aboard the Unchained to serve its crew - especially the higher ranked members anyway.
Class Four Droids[edit]
Quantity | Model | Notes |
6 | B2 super battle droids | Battle droids |
24 | Droidekas | Battle droids |
2 | IG-100 MagnaGuards | Battle droids |
12 | Prowler 1000 exploration droids | Probe droids |
Class Four Droids were designed with a clear military purpose in mind. They're meant to either excel at combat or otherwise help enhance it somehow. Aside from the couple of IG-100 MagnaGuards which serve almost exclusively in following the Captain around, all other Class Four Droids are spread across the ship, in particular around sensitive or vulnerable areas. The Prowler 1000s are kept in storage most of the time, only used to scout ahead during ground operations or boarding attempts.
Class Five Droids[edit]
Quantity | Model | Notes |
12 | BLX labor droids | Labor droids |
6 | CLL-M2 ordnance lifter droids | Labor droids |
24 | DUM-series pit droids | Labor droids |
6 | HL-444 hover loaders | Labor droids |
Class Five Droids are most likely the least impressive droids out there. Their processing circuits are also the simplest sort too, these droids being used for manual and often repetitive tasks that would be either to difficult for an organic to accomplish... or quite possibly to damn boring too. They're found almost exclusively either in the ship's cargo holds and close enough to the boarding ramps.
History[edit]
Commissioned in 9 ABY by a small Outer Rim government, the ship originally named Scion of Conflict saw little use save for a couple of local and fairly minor engagements with small bands of pirates. Due to an economic crisis, the small Outer Rim government was forced to sell some of its unneeded military assets, the Scion of Conflict included. The buyer was Rosh Kayryht, a small time Onderonian kingpin dealing mostly in smuggling operations around the galaxy.
Rather than being immediately put to use however, the ship was instead handed over to MandalMotors for some extra tweaks and upgrades. A couple of years later the ship was still undergoing modernization works when it was taken out of dock by Mors Rivek and Seth Qorbin. Days later, the ship meanwhile renamed Unchained was used in a paramilitary operation in the Lurgo system, above planet Harnell.
Assisted by allied forces of the criminal organization known as the Zann Consortium, the Unchained was able to fend off and overwhelm the small planetary defense forces, including a Victory I Star Destroyer. The ship was next used to transport a captured high ranking Remnant official, Moff Wurezsh, back to the Vectra system in Vast Empire controlled space.
Following those events the ship underwent further tinkering and upgrades courtesy of the Vast Empire's Naval Intelligence agency. In exchange for those upgrades and a few other pieces of military equipment the ship would remain in the private possession of Seth Qorbin and his associates but only if the latter would agree to accept military representatives and crewmen aboard. The other condition involved Seth Qorbin continuing to work for VENI and in so doing use this ship and its assets to push forth the Vast Empire's goals and interests. Both conditions were deemed acceptable...
