Biography[edit]

Appearance[edit]

5'8" with an hourglass figure, blond hair and piercing eyes - Kaylee Talix can be considered beautiful by most galactic standards. She is conscious of her appearance and knows how to put it to good use. Trained as a spy from a young age, Kaylee has become quite the master of disguise, easily able to blend in with her surrounding. As far as clothing goes, she prefers uniforms but is known to wear - and look good doing so - almost anything.

Personality[edit]

Cold, calculated and emotionless. That is how Kaylee Talix appears to most people she meets and interacts with. Whether that is yet one more mask she wears though is unknown... Much like with her ability to physically blend in with her surroundings, the woman is also capable of getting in any kind of character required of her - bossy and authoritative, casual and easygoing, sultry and seductive...

Highly intelligent and with a penchant for analytical thinking, Kaylee easily manages to get by in most situations she finds herself in. She is an excellent judge of character, easily able to determine someone else's strengths and weaknesses as well as subsequently putting them to use... or otherwise simply exploiting them. She's what most would call a perfectionist - very thorough with every aspect of her daily life, whether choice of words, decision to act or not and ability to determine which course of action is the most profitable given a large number of ever changing factors.

History[edit]

Born and raised on Metellos, a planet in the Core Worlds region, Kaylee Talix did not have it easy. Poverty and social inequality made sure of that. At the age of 8 she loses both parents in a traffic accident. She spends the next couple of years in understaffed foster care institutions until at the age of 10 she is taken away by unknown individuals.

The next four years she is kept at an unknown location alongside other children her age. There they are taught all manner of things - most important of all being obedience though. Heavy punishments were administered to those failing to comply. Despite being around others her age, Kaylee was not allowed to interact with them. Doing so was against the rules and breaking the rules resulted in painful experiences for all parties involved.

Aside from the daily studies the kids were forced to undertake, there were also the daily trainings that they were similarly expected to undergo. The worst of these were the close combat exercises. Sometimes they were made to fight against dummies. Other times against training droids. Other times against grown ups. Most of the times though they were made to fight amongst themselves. The victor would be entitled to double food rations for the following day. The loser would end up spending the night being re-educated so as not to repeat the same mistakes in the future.

After failing too many times, kids just disappeared. Nobody knew what happened to them and nobody was brave enough to ask either. One thing everyone agreed upon though - whatever happened to them was surely not a good thing. Such were the circumstances in which Kaylee Talix was raised. A few months after her fourteenth birthday - exactly 4 years and 1 day since she was taken away from the previous orphanage - the young girl was once more moved. Some of the other kids, the ones that likewise excelled at their studies or combat prowess, ended up coming with her. The remaining ones... she never knew exactly what happened to them. She always suspected though and those suspicions were quite grim.

She ended up spending four more years doing pretty much the same things only in much nicer accommodations. For the first time in a very long while she was given her own room. She was also allowed HoloNet access as well. Limited access granted, but access nevertheless. During these next few years she was taught different languages, was taught how to behave in various societies - how to mimic behaviors and how to spot the differences. She was also taught to fire and operate various weapons. At first there were regular blaster pistols but then came carbines, sniper rifles and during the last year there were even grenades and other explosive devices.

Of the 50 kids they started out as in their new location, only 36 managed to graduate these strenuous courses. Kaylee Talix was one of those 36 however. Her scores actually placed her 3rd of the entire class so she ended up learning quite a bit. When those four years passed she made the acquaintance of a stern, official looking individual wearing a clean and simple grey uniform. She was congratulated on her achievements and told that from that day onwards she would be working for the Imperial Intelligence. The man told her she should be honored for being offered this rare chance and told her that soon enough she would be called on to work and repay this generosity.

Not knowing any better - or perhaps quite the contrary, knowing instead too much - Kaylee Talix thanked him and so ended up working for the Remnant. She was asked to spy on people. She was asked to steal from people. She was asked to plant various items on people. She was asked to get close to people. She was asked to kill people as well. It was during one of these missions, involving the retrieval of a highly encrypted holodisk, that Kaylee ended up unintentionally learning something she was not supposed to learn.

She kept quiet about it, knowing that if she spoke to anyone about it, her life would be forfeited, but even so during the very next mission she realized that the back-up she was supposed to have standing by was nowhere to be found. She was left on her own to deal with a rather vicious crime boss and his small army of henchmen. Despite all odds she survived the encounter though. She also went into hiding afterward. There was only one man in the Ubiqtorate that she trusted and that was her handler. She made contact with him and together the two agreed to meet at a neutral location.

She got there only to realize that the whole place was under Imperial surveillance. She tried making a run for it and succeeded too - but not before taking out two former colleagues and getting wounded herself. Kaylee knew then and there that her life up to that point had ended. She abandoned everything and caught a transport to the nearest neutral world. From there she took another transport. And another. And another. And another after that. For a few months she did nothing but travel around the galaxy, never staying in one place for longer than a few days.

One day Kaylee found herself in the Rheagent sector, an isolated place all the way in the Outer Rim, when she realized she had just stepped into an ambush. Three Remnant agents that she recognized were approaching her with guns raised and ready to shoot should she attempt to move away. She knew that her fate had been sealed by that point. Either she could try escaping and get killed in the process or she could quietly wait to be taken in alive - in which case she would end up tortured, interrogated and killed anyway. She was about ready to make a suicidal run for it when two other men appeared from behind the three agents.

From where she stood, Kaylee watched as the new arrivals pulled out small, silenced slugthrowers and mercilessly gunned down her pursuers. To her surprise... she remained standing. Not only that but when the dust finally settled she was asked by one of the men to come along with them, saying there was someone who wanted to meet her. Not being given much choice in the matter anyway, Kaylee joined her saviors and after about half a day's travel through hyperspace she came to the Vectra system. The trio landed on one of the moons that she learned was called Abrae and once on the surface she was rapidly escorted to a huge building that rose above most others.

That was when she first met the creepy looking man hiding behind a strange mask. That was when she first learned that her progress - as well as that of her pursuers - had been tracked ever since they crossed the Vast Empire's borders. Words such as potential and second chance were used and by the end of that short discussion the two of them had, Kaylee Talix agreed to not only turn away from her former masters but actually work for this strange Captain Grey individual instead.

The missions she was sent on weren't that much different but even so Kaylee could tell that something had changed. Things around her were less... cold. There were people who actually tried approaching her, even if she wasn't quite certain how to respond to that. There were also those that appeared to respect her skills and abilities and it wasn't long before she managed to rise to the top of the organization. In fact she rose so high that she eventually became Captain Grey's right hand agent.

In this capacity she was able to meet a lot of new recruits, Seth Qorbin naming himself amongst them. Like all the others, he too showed plenty of potential but unlike all the others, he also appeared to be hiding something. It was this that first drew Kaylee's attention to the blond individual. What started out as a mere curiosity however soon evolved into something more as the two of them ended up working together during certain missions.

When a rogue VENI agent sold her out by blowing her cover to the enemy, it was Qorbin who came to her rescue. It wasn't easy and it wasn't pretty but the man eventually managed to pull through and bring both of them back home. Things though did not end there however. The same rogue agent made another attempt against his former employers and once more she and the blond Onderonian ended up working together.

In fact they were still working together, unofficially and behind even Captain Grey's back, when they succeeded in finding and neutralizing the traitorous menace. It was after that particular event that the VENI leader came up with a new idea - that of officially pairing some of his best assets so that together they may achieve even more spectacular results. This is how Kaylee Talix ended up aboard the Unchained - a ship that would end up being used by the Vast Empire, though not also belong to it. A ship that would as such be able to pull off missions that others would be unable to. Things were bound to change for her once more...
