Current Status[edit]

The Cerulean is currently engaging New Republic and Imperial Remnant forces at Belgaroth.

History[edit]

The Warden-class Light Cruiser designated as the Cerulean was built at the shipyards orbiting above Fondor in 2 ABY. Once completed, the ship saw active service as a picket and customs ship in various postings around the galaxy. It was stationed at the planet Ator at the time of the Battle of Endor, and stayed at that post following the Emperor's death and all through the subsequent splintering of the Empire. When Ator became nominally independent under the Atrasin Baronetcy, the Cerulean and her crew changed loyalties without complaint, continuing to serve in and around Ator and the other systems controlled by the family. During the latter part of this time period she came under the command of the wookiee Ruwe, a fighter pilot who had often flown for the Vast Empire. However, her new Captain was soon called back to his homeworld to help deal with a crisis there.

So it came to pass that when the Atoran Home Fleet and the systems controlled by the Atrasin Baronetcy were ceded to the Vast Empire by the current head of House Atrasin, Geordi Atrasin, the ship came under the command of Warrant Officer 2nd Class Phillar Pradger, a human from Chandrila. Her duties remained much the same after the change: in-systems customs, occasional anti-pirate activity, and scouting or picketing roles for battle groups. It was a rather normal, if inauspicious posting for a rather normal and inauspicious ship. This, however, soon changed as well. It was not long after this that Warrant Officer Pragder was among the officers murdered with poison at the Annual Naval Review, the event which saw Rear Admiral Stormz succeed Rear Admiral Denethor as Naval Commander in Chief after Denethor barely survived the poison. The ship would not go Captainless for long, however, as Warrant Officer 1st Class Dracule "Drac" Mihawk was appointed to the position by the new Naval Commander in Chief.

The ship's first port of call under its new Captain was Mangol, a moon of Lotaith, in the Rhegeant system. The Cerulean rendezvoused with Line Captain Jaden Khaar's VSD Dead Gun and several other craft near the shipyards orbiting the moon. The first order of business for the Light Cruiser, once it had arrived, was docking for refit. A second gunner's console was installed in the Bridge and two Concussion Missile Tubes were installed in the nose of the ship, increasing its offensive capabilities considerably.

Leaving Daishi Station behind, the Cerulean participated in the Battle of Epsilon against the New Republic. After escorting the contested bacta tanker, the Pioneer, out of the combat zone, the warship returned to battle. Her Communications Array was knocked out and her hull breached in the cargo bay in the process of destroying the CR-90 Corvette Pride of Undlion. After some hasty repairs, Drac ordered her back into the fray. While savaging the Freelance, a Dauntless-class Heavy Cruiser, with her remaining concussion missiles, the Light Cruiser's attitude controls were destroyed. Locked onto her course, the crew poured fire into the DP-20 engaging their sister ship Amaranth until the Cerulean collided with the DP-20, violently ending her participation in the battle. She was subsequently towed to Daishi Station for repairs, while Drac was promoted to Chief of Naval Warfare and moved on to command the VSD Dead Gun.

Standard Operating Procedures[edit]

Watches[edit]

The Cerulean operates under a modified Watch system, though in practice the actual crewmembers on duty tends to be rather flexible. In principle, though, there are four distinct shifts, and during combat situations, redundant personnel serve on boarding/anti-boarding parties, or attend to damage control.

Primary Watch: Also called the Captain's Watch, because the Captain commands it, the Primary Watch serves as the "morning shift," as well as being the preferred group for combat operations. The Watch consists of the most experienced and most highly skilled crewmembers, who serve an 6 hour shift, beginning at 0600 hours (relative ship's day) and ending at 1200 hours.

  • "Morning Shift" Crew
    • Captain
    • Chief Pilot
    • Chief Engineer
    • Chief Gunner
    • Gunner's Mate (A)
    • Chief Sensors Officer
    • Chief Medical Officer
    • SF Commander
    • Combat Medic

Secondary Watch: Commanded by the Executive Officer, the Secondary watch serves as the "afternoon shift," and its members act as backup personnel, in case Primary Watch crewers are incapacitated or absent. The shift starts at 1200 hours and lasts until 1800 hours.

  • "Afternoon Shift" Crew
    • First Officer
    • Pilot's Mate(A)
    • Engineer's Mate
    • Gunner's Mate (B)
    • Sensors Technician (A)
    • Security Officer
    • Security Officer

Tertiary Watch: The Tertiary Watch covers the next 6 hours of the galactic standard day with a total on-duty crew reduced in number from seven to three. Generally, the least experienced and least skilled crewmembers have to put up with the late-night shift, however, the Captain is the exception, because he commands this shift. The Tertiary Watch begins at 1800 hours and ends at 0000 hours.

  • "Late Night Shift" Crew
    • Captain
    • Pilot's Mate(B)
    • Gunner's Mate (A)
    • Sensors Technician (B)
    • Chief Medical Officer
    • SF Commander
    • Combat Medic

Quaternary Watch: The Tertiary Watch covers the remaining six hours of the galactic standard day. Generally, the least experienced and least skilled crewmembers have to put up with this so-called "graveyard shift." The Tertiary Watch begins at 0000 hours and ends at 0600 hours.

  • "Graveyard Shift" Crew
    • Second Officer
    • Pilot's Mate (A)
    • Gunner's Mate (C)
    • Sensors Technician (A)
