Bio

Appearance

Assio Nightwish or simply Nightwish has a red eye and a blue one with black dots in it. He usually prefers to use a pilot mask to cover his face and wears a black robe with red clouds when not in uniform.

Personality

Assio Nightwish has a silent and dark nature, so he doesn't speak much. Even though he is like this, Nightwish forgives easily and tries to hold back from fighting making these two characteristics his weak points

History

Assio Nightwish was working with the Front for Child Labour Liberation before he was with the Empire. After the Front was beaten in the battle of Semper VI, he went to become a bouncer in the poor part of the moon. Later that same year, An Imperial officer came to the system and offered him a job with the Navy. Nightwish immediately accepted and went off to training and was instantly put into the Red Star Squadron.

To this day, Assio Nightwish has not won any honours or Medals due to his laziness but his commanding officers say that he has great potential. "This lad is of extrordinairy skill. He sits back on runs though and never puts in his best" said Red Squadron Leader

Overall, the Higher ranked officers say he is a great pilot and has outstanding potential.

The Battle of Xannomenen

When the planet Naboo lost contact with a Gungan colony on one of Naboo's moons, Xannomenen, Assio was sent along with a squad of four Royal Gurads to investigate. They quickly found what had become of the Gungan colony. Every single Gungan had died of a mysterious chemical weapon. The Guards were infected by the poison, but luckily its effects took longer to work on non-Gungans. They soon encountered Ohma-al-A'asa super battle droids, B2 super battle droids and their bounty hunter commander, and attacked them. Nightwish defeated many droids during the battle and helped to save the prisoners located in the nearby camp. It was the first time Assio encountered Than Sion, who would be his nemesis throughout the whole war.

The Battle of Jhaanuikaan

On the rain-drenched world of Jhaanuikaan, during the battle that took place there, Nightwish came into his own. As The Empire was thought to have been defeated by a Rebel attack, Assio led a cadre of Troops. The loss of his Master and the horrors on the battlefield of Jaanuikaan would have lasting effect on his life; and because of it he became even more fiercely independent and more frustrated by his failings. However, in the thick of the battle he received an urgent transmission from Darth Sidious to personally evacuate the planet. This ploy may have been made to save Assio from being killed on the battlefront.

Respecting the Emporer's power, Nightwish had to comply with his wishes, though it was hard for him to desert his friends on the final front. Before leaving, the thirteen-year old Technician, Aubrie Wyn gave Assio her Master's holocron to return to the Headquarters. Sadly, in the following five days as Nightwish left the front, all of the members of the technical crew were killed in action. When the transports arrived, only a few had made it through the storms. Assio was faced with a hard and painful decision—as the last surviving Soldier on Jaanuikaan. He ordered the evacuation of the planet. Enraged, Captain Orliss Gillmunn pulled a blaster on Assio, who reacted instinctively with his own Airenrok 16, wounding the officer. Such horrific acts were becoming far too natural for him; it was the first time he had used the instinct of an animal in this manner but it would certainly not be the last. Gillmunn, leader of the disenchanted Jaanuikaani loyalists, swore to never forget this betrayal as the Loyalist Jaanuikaani were left to their fate. Once again, Nightwish had failed and the battle for Jaanuikaan was lost. His actions during the battle would later spark the Second Battle of Jaanuikaan nearly twenty years later, where his children were captured by rogue rebels.

Two days after the evacuation, the wounded were taken to New Holstice, where Assio would first meet Commander Kuffs, the Tusken Jedi, and his apprentice, Bhat Jul, who practiced as healers.

One of the wounded was Sora Mobari, who was injured in an explosion by Ithorian terrorists and who was not responding to treatments. Nightwish, unable to accept even one more Jedi lost, tried a different method. He used the same Military technique that he used to crushed Gillmunn's windpipe, and used it to massage Mobari's heart. Kuffs was horrified, so he tried to reason with Nightwish, saying that she was suffering needlessly. Assio insisted she would live, but in spite of his efforts she succumbed to her injuries. Assio was unable to accept that he could not save people from death; this experience would reinforce his desire to save the people he loved from dying.

Kuffs later showed Assio a memorial created for all the Jedi killed since the birth of the Empire. It was composed of supposedly immortal memory moths that whispered the names of the Jedi over and over again. Nightwish released a few moths for all members of the fallen jedi order. As Kuffs released one for Sora Morbari, he reassured Anakin that she was severed from the Living Force days ago and nothing could have stopped her from dying. Because of his Master’s apparent death, Assio came under the tutelage of Ashrita Furcretas a campaign began on the world of Semper IV.

The Battle of Semper IV

On the desert world of Semper IV, an unimportant world, the Imperial and Rebelious forces fought; the lines were drawn. During one of the skirmishes, Assio, Kuffs, and his apprentice, Bhat, were lost behind enemy lines.

Assio attempting to heal Bhat with the Jhaanuikaan medicines was failing.Bhat had been seriously injured from a crash, and as he lay dying, Nightwish tried to use the Medicines to heal him, but it was to no avail; Bhat died from the fatal wounds. Assio, frustrated with the Nikto's death, chastised Kuffs, saying that had they been with him, they might have been able to save him. Kuffs replied that he had felt Bhat become one with the Force, arguing that Bhat had known that he was there with him in the Force, and that his physical presence would have made no difference.

As Nightwish and Kuffs began to work their way back to their army, Assio's prejudice against the Trandoshans for killing his mother was beginning to demonstrate itself against the Tusken Jedi. He was insulted and angered when Kuffs spoke of the similarities between them: coming to Coruscant later in their lives, being raised on a desert planet, and having known only one parent. Assio's fury was intensified when Kuffs commented that Assio would have made a good Tusken.

When they reached a Rebel station, they began working on transport to return to their own base. So they could hijack a transport, Kuffs gave Assio the power cells from his and the Tusken Jedi's father's lightsaber to get the transport moving. That completed, they started the search for weapons to arm themselves. As the hours rolled by, Nightwish began to relive the memories surrounding his mother's death. When Rebel guards located the soldier, who was slipping towards the dark side, he mistook them for Trandoshans, and, in a fit of rage, slaughtered them all. In a blood haze, Anakin turned on Kuffs, but the Tusken Jedi managed to disarm him and talk some sense into him.

A'Sharad Kuffs told Assio that, as a Tusken, he understood the vehement desire to take revenge, but because of his training as a Jedi he had learned that vengeance was not theirs to take. The Tusken Jedi also knew the lure of the dark side, knowing it needed to be avoided. After recounting to Kuffs his painful memories of his mother's death, Assio remembered that his mother's death and the slaughter that had followed it was something he had never told his old master, Dremer.

Seeing the turmoil the boy was in, Kuffs concluded that if they were to survive and get along together, Nightwish must see him as a Jedi, and not a Tusken Raider. Hett removed his mask, surprising Assio, who saw that he was totally Human. He insisted that he was Tusken at heart, but also wholly a Jedi. Anakin apologized to him, finally seeing Kuffs as an ally instead of an old foe. The two survived the trip back to the Imperial lines.

Kuffs, contemplating the episode, decided to have people see him first as a Jedi, then as a Tusken. He also never told anyone else of Assio's secret, insisting that it was his burden and that Assio would have to face the repercussions of what he had done, believing that Assio would tell his master about the massacre, himself. Nightwish never did.

Not long afterwards, Nightwish discovered that his master was indeed alive and had only been captured by Gerlon Dunk, and was soon joyfully reunited with Dremer, who had escaped from captivity.
