History[edit]

After the Battle of Kolstor, Viper Squadron under went a reorganisation taking in recruits from depleted squadrons that had served alongside them in the conflict. TACOM assigned the squadron to the Eastern Territories, more specifically the Rokh system. The squadron's role there would be to conduct reconnasie duties concerning the neighbouring neutral system; Roku Tan.

Viper squadron was tasked with monitoring suspected Imperial Dominion activity in the Rokh system. Reports have indicated activity on the moon of Rokh; itself a home a supply base currently unoccupied by either the Vast Empire or the Dominion. Viper was required to carry out a patrol of the system and the moon base. The system also is home to a small but profitable minning operation in the system's hazardous asteroid field which Viper was also required to monitor. The squadron was expected to make a quick, silent sweep of the system undetected from any Dominion probes that may have been set up for Intelligence gathering. Viper had approximately one standard hour to complete their objective and rendezvous with the Strike-class Cruiser Indigo. Unbeknownst to the squadron, bar their squadron commander Ensign Ibram Tyrol, Viper's fighters had been fitted with self-destruct units to ensue no evidence of the Vast Empire's presence could be found.

Mission Objectives[edit]

Conduct a comphrensive sweep of the Rokh system to collect data and monitor any Imperial Dominion influenced activity.

To leave no presence of the VEN's activity in the area.

Mission Outcome[edit]

The mission was an objective failure. Viper squadron was ambushed at the outset of the mission by Imperial Dominion forces. One of their pilots, Korant 'Flyboy' Borshan, had leaked files to the Dominion side making Viper's arrival a known event. Borshann was subsquently punished by Naval High Command and put to death as a traitor to the Vast Empire. Viper suffered casualties and loss of crafts further tarnishing it's reputation as a realiable and effecient squadron. The squadron's failure would open itself up to the manipulation of the Vast Empire's Intelligience Department who saw the depleted and under-performing squadron as a ripe tool for the Department's polltical ends.
