Biography

The harsh world of Iridonia was his home world. Some would claim that your home world is always your home world, but Sam never held any sentiment for it. It may have been possible for him to do so had his family not moved from the planet when Sam was young. In retrospect, he sees that moving away was for the best. The likelihood of survival on Iridonia among the warring factions was slim.

During the few short years Sam was on Iridonia, his father did his best to teach him how to survive. To his father, survival was more important than anything else. Having grown and lived through the constant battles of Iridonia, it was either survive or lay down and die in dishonor. That was one thing that Sam's father would not let happen to his son. So he taught Sam to keep fighting even when his body was screaming to quit. It was a harsh lesson for a seven year old.

It was hardly an even fight. An experienced thirty-five year old Zabrak warrior against a seven year old youngling; the lesson was a hard one, but one that was learned extremely well. Sam fought his father for hours on end without even the slightest break during each bout. His father edged his son's body ever closer to the brink of self-destruction. The goal was not intended to fortify the body, but to solidify the mind and allow it to push the body to its true limits.

After three years of training, Sam's family left Iridonia. They made their way to Lorista. Lorista is one of eight colonies established by the Zabraks. Zabraks had entered space at an early age for their species. Unfortunately, Sam's family was miss informed about the Lorista colony. It was not peaceful in the least, but far more savage than Iridonia itself. Regardless, they did enjoy a period of calm after arriving on Lorista.

Alas, that period of peace did not last. Another clan attacked the city in which Sam and his family resided. All able bodied were called to defend their homes. Sam and his father gathered their gear and headed to the front lines. Echoes of blaster fire rang out through the city. The night sky housed the flashes of explosions and the alley ways nurtured the cries of the fallen.

The siege lasted a constant eight days. The defenders' bodies were tired and spent, but they successfully fended off the invaders. The battle lines were strewn with the bodies of both sides. During the siege, Sam had gotten split up from his father and was not sure if he was alive or dead. He did not let this get to him and focused on helping the injured to medical centers.

Sam made it home after many hours of assisting the wounded. His father was there waiting with his mother. His father made it out, but ultimately at the cost of his right arm. Sam stayed with his family long enough for his father to recover and get used to his prosthetic before heading off-world to travel the galaxy.

He participated in many brawling tournaments in different shady worlds. During his more tranquil days, he spent time learning the basics of demolitions and ballistics. It kept his mind busy and sharp. After many years of wondering about the galaxy, Sam became restless in his life. He had an itch for thrills that needed scratched. Eventually, he ended up seeking those thrills through the Vast Empire. It was the only faction of the Empire that did not maintain the xenophobia of the new defunct Galactic Empire.

He spent a good many years with the Vast Empire. He climbed the ranks and command ladder to First Lieutenant and XO of the Army. Sam eventually felt it was time to leave the service and retired to his home on Tadath. He took up new hobbies, but kept up with his old ones as well. More than once Vast Empire MPs came knocking on his door asking questions about the random explosions that would ring out from his home.

Eventually, Sam felt it was time to return to service. Partly because he would be able to play with his explosives without being hassled by the MPs, but also it seems like they could use the salt from old man such as himself.
