Biography[edit]
Relationships[edit]
- Huang Ju'kai: This Gand Findsman was exiled from his order for siding with the Separatists, and the Galactic Republic sentenced him to the penal colony of Timbra Ott. Huang is the closest thing Sam has ever had to a father, having saved his life when he was young, and training him in the rare Gand Martial Arts so that he could defend himself. Sam has a deep respect for the diminutive mystic, and for the arts of the Gand Findsman. Huang now lives in seclusion on a mountain-top on Timbra Ott, awaiting the return of his sole pupil, so that he can instruct him in the final tier of the way of the Gand Findsman. Sam trusts and respects Huang unconditionally, and considers him to be a father.
- Wyl Trykon: The other father figure in Sam Dunn's life, Wyl Trykon was Sam's training officer during his time in the Vast Empire Naval Academy, and the two found much to respect in each other. The first friend that Sam made in the Vast Empire, the two still maintain a good friendship, especially now that Sam has returned to the Navy. Assigned to Trykon's vessel, the ISD Adjudicator, Sam and Trykon can often be seen discussing a wide variety of subjects, from philosophy to battlefield strategy.
- John Varl: When Sam and John met upon Sam's assignment to Blackjack Squad, the two hit it off immediately. Their love for pranks and joke-filled attitudes gave them a lot in common, and they were known as a double-act of troublemakers in Blackjack Squad. When both sides of the conflict don't know whether to laugh or cry, and their lines look like an overturned toy box, you know that Dunny and Kilroy can't be far away. He has managed to con Kilroy into switching over to the Starfighter Corps - BEWARE!
Appearance[edit]
Sam Jack Dunn stands at a little under two meters in height, and is perhaps a little too light for someone of his age - a result of malnourishment as a child. His skin, especially on his arms and face, is nicked with an uncountable number of tiny scars, often the result of knife-fighting or accidents that happened when fleeing pursuit. He has a tanned complexion, and his build is wiry and athletic - he'll never be as strong as his peers, but he's extremely agile and has very fine hand-eye co-ordination.
His mousy brown hair is cut at exactly 0.5 centimeters over regulation standard, though no-one has raised the issue with him yet, as no-one has considered it really worth the hassle of a confrontation over. He seems to always have a 5 O'clock shadow, despite the fact that he shaves regularly. He has a slightly exotic (think mongolian) facial structure, with storm-grey eyes and a seemingly-permanent lopsided grin.
His posture reflects his personality - he appears to be relaxed wherever he is, lounging effortlessley as if he's been there for hours and has settled in, but his eyes give him away. Darting back and forth, his gaze is always taking in the area around him - a holdover from his childhood, this means he rarely misses a detail in his surroundings. He is never seen without a variety of blades hidden on his person, and he seems to go through uniforms at an astonishing rate - in all cases, they return badly worn, though no-one can quite explain why.
As a result of serious burns incurred during his mission to Anteevy, Sam Dunn had to have his skin removed in an emergency medical procedure, now sports a layer of newly-grafted skin, which has yet to grow in properly, and gives his skin a decidedly pale hue. As a result of the graft, he has lost both of his tattoos, and cannot get them re-applied until the new skin settles in properly. This is something that he considers with a mild sense of disappointment.
Personality[edit]
Psychologist’s Report:
Sam Jack Dunn is a conflicted individual with two major influences affecting the very deepest parts of his psyche. He endeavours to hide a vicious survivalist streak behind a veneer of civility and cocky confidence.
The subject has a remarkable knack for appearing to be totally relaxed in all situations, to the point of complete apathy. He regards the world around him with an air of casual disinterest that can be disarming. He is polite, but in a vague manner that makes him appear to be a little air-headed, remembering to use manners a second too late. He is friendly, but distracted.
Despite his lazy appearance, however, subject is a hard worker with a strong desire to learn and a stubborn refusal to accept defeat. The subject will explore every possible avenue rather than quit – for him, failure is simply not an acceptable option. He will pursue all of these things with an appearance of mild interest. He might sign up for a dozen extra training courses because they ‘look interesting’ or refuse to accept defeat in a simulation because he’s ‘having too much fun.’
However, this appearance is nothing more than an act. Underneath his air of disinterest belies a predatory cunning and a keen survival instinct that are more akin to an animal than a civilized being. He is completely unaware of politics and thoughts of morality are entirely lost on him: He will simply destroy anything he perceives as a threat a pure, honest and brutal aggression and every weapon that he can muster. His cunning makes him clever and adaptable, and he has a natural talent for military strategy.
If Sam Dunn can learn to control and properly conceal his more barbaric nature and use it wisely, he will become a truly powerful individual. If he cannot, however, then he will be the architect of his own downfall. Final evaluation is that he has a large amount of potential, and if properly moulded will be a valuable asset to the Vast Empire.
Combat Capability[edit]
Sam Dunn is patient, cunning and aggressive, and is a master in the art of an ambush. If his opponents are unaware of his presence, he will wait for the perfect moment to strike for maximum damage, and is a master at using the environment to conceal himself, even in the midst of battle.
His intuitive insight and lightning reflexes make him conversely difficult to ambush, and he is capable of quickly turning the tables on an aggressor that attempts to catch him by surprise. He will, when he identifies a target, pursue its destruction with a dogged determination, to the exclusion of all else.
Highly aggressive, Sam Dunn is creative and clever in the art of attack, able to strike from surprising angles and outfox his prey. However, his sheer aggression makes him predictable – if he identifies a target, it is guaranteed that he will go barrelling straight in to attack position. This makes him easily isolated by a clever foe, and by having his target retreat from the battle, Sam can effectively be placed in a position where he is of little use.
He is also a poor wingman, as he is easily tempted by a target and prefers to go on the attack than to defend something – he believes that the only defence worth considering is a strong counter-attack. This often leaves his wingmate in a bad position.
Overall, Sam Dunn is a very well suited to quick fights and ambushes, where his sudden aggression and quick reactions serve him very well. However, he is of limited use in escort duty or in a protracted battle, as his aggression inevitably lands him in a bad situation. He is dangerous, but unless he can reign in his aggression, he will never be great.

Iron Chef[edit]
After releasing his popular cookbook 'The Imperial Soldier's Survival Guide to Cooking', Sam Jack Dunn is also the first challenger in Rear Admiral Ph'rranix Krazanr (Better known as Stormz)'s Kitchen Stadium, challenging his elite Iron Chefs to a battle of culinary skills in the hopes of becoming a part of culinary legend, earning his immortality forever - or, perhaps, even joining the ranks of the elite Iron Chefs. The day of the battle is drawing ever closer, and Sam has been practicing his cooking skills in his spare time in preparation for what could be the most difficult day in his life...
Possessions[edit]
Starfighters[edit]
Mist
The TIE Phantom was part of a top-secret project funded directly by Lord Vader, with the goal of exploiting a Stygium Crystal deposit found by Imperial Scouts during the Galactic Civil War. These fighters, equipped with cloaking technology of a quality not seen since, were a priority one target for the Rebel Alliance. Both the factory that made them and the Stygium Crystal deposit that made their existence possible were destroyed, without a trace. Currently, there are no known Stygium Crystal deposits, and the plans for the TIE Phantom died with its factory. It is impossible to replicate the weapon that the Rebel Alliance so feared.
The TIE Phantom was equipped with a hyperdrive, a shield generator and five high-powered laser cannons, along with its own life support systems. Its Stygium Cloaking System made it invisible to both scanners and the naked eye. It had an automatic system that shut of the cloaking system at the moment the trigger was pulled, allowing it to divert all power to its laser cannons and inflict considerable damage on a target. It also seated two, a pilot and a gunner.
How it is that Sam managed to acquire one of these rare fighters is an abject mystery. He has extensively modified it, with a droid brain slaved to the system that allows him to operate the ship alone, and a highly sophisticated power-management system that lets him control every single ounce of the reactor's power as he sees fit, even in the middle of battle. Whenever Sam Dunn goes on one of his holidays on the SMC Surprise or disappears on one of his 'excursions', he always takes Mist with him.
Droids[edit]
IM4-099 'Face' A relic from the Galactic Civil War, IM4-099, nicknamed 'Face', served from the start of the war, and was one of many of the hundreds to recon droids deployed by the Devastator in an effort to locate the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO. IM4-099 was also assigned to locate and report criminal activity, and it took its job seriously.
IM4-099 survived the Galactic Civil War and ended up in the possession of the Naval Pilot turned Scout Trooper Sam Dunn, as part of his recon team. 099 has responded well to being treated as a living being and not a mere tool, and is loyal to its master, refusing orders from anyone else.
IM4-099 is known for its sunny, cheerful personality, and unless specifically ordered to maintain silence, will happily chirp along as it goes about its business. It also has a nasty habit of including as many puns as it can in its recon reports, an idiosyncrasy that Sam permits, and possibly even encourages.
IM4-603 'Heel' Produced during the dying months of the Galactic Civil War, IM4-603, nicknamed 'Heel' by its current master in reflection of its startling comparison to 'Face', found itself operating in the collapse of the Galactic Empire, and developed a pessimistic, almost depressing attitude, going about its duties in sullen silence. It is also sarcastic and rude - at least, as much as an Imperial droid can be.
Recently assigned to Sam Dunn, IM4-603 considers him to be 'not as bad as the previous masters. maybe', and delights in insulting him, under the impression that paying a master any attention is a nice action, even if the word content is not. How Sam has managed not to give in to temptation and wipe 'Heel's memory is a mystery, and an obvious testament to his patience.
