From the Naval Archives[edit]

Date: Pirate activity had been on the rise in recent weeks, with the most recent being an attack on a supply convoy headed for the out-laying Imperial colonies and outposts. The convoy, designation 'Omega' was scheduled to make a pass by Rakata Prime, when all contact was lost. It's last known location was omitted from the public report, but Navy Intelligence had tracked the convoy to the Osigao Phi system.

With pressure mounting, The High Command had become fed up with these raids, and so decided it was time to deal with the pirate threat. Naturally, it fell to the Navy to deal with the problem, and Navy Command launched the ISD Suspense, along with Viper Squadron, to locate this particular branch of criminals and make them pay.

Extra Information[edit]

“To any Imperial Friendly ships, this is the Vast Empire Transport Convoy Omega; we are under siege from unknown pirate forces. We are declaring a Code Zero, and are asking for re-enforcements, we are an unarmed convoy and are taking major damage. We have been driven off our original course and we are unsure of our location. Our last known coordinates place us somewhere near the planet ****** *** (location censored from public transmission). --Last Transmission of the 'Omega' Convoy

  • Further reports of Pirate activity had been received from the area around Rakata Prime, causing speculation that the pirates are operating in/around the system.

Mission Objectives[edit]

  • Locate the missing Vast Empire supply convoy
  • Draw out enemy pirate force
  • Recover as much as possible from supply convoy
  • Protect convoy until help arrives
  • Eliminate pirate threat

Mission Brief[edit]

Naval Command commissioned a second convoy to make the supply trip along the same route as the Omega Convoy. The second Convoy included 4 Wayfarer-class medium transports. Viper Squadron would hide their fighters in and amongst the transports, and wait for the pirates to emerge. Once they arrived, Viper squadron would then defend the convoy, until the ISD Suspense jumped in to ambush them. Once the threat was eliminated, the task force would continue to locate the missing convoy.

Aftermath[edit]

Viper Squadron managed to successfully locate and defend the missing convoy. However, during the engagement, one Wayfarer-class transport, designation Delta, went missing, and crashed on the nearby planet Osigao Phi. During the post-mission debrief, Viper squadron was informed of the incident, and tasked with a new mission: To locate the Delta, and escort a rescue shuttle to it's location, so that the crew may be recovered. With the addition of some new recruits fresh from the Naval Academy, Viper squadron set out once again on their new mission.

Conditions on Phi were rough, as the planet had unusually fierce sandstorms that ravaged the entire planet. However, the Delta was eventually located, and what was left of the crew was found. The Delta had suffered from some internal explosions after the crash, however their we're indications of small-arms damage in certain sections of the transport. Command reckon there was an actual, or attempted mutiny, and an investigation is pending. A member of a recon team was also recovered from a ravine near the crash site.

Information recovered from Pirate's captured after they had ejected from their fighters revealed some shocking data.
