Appearance

Standing around 6', Tomas is a thin build for his age and height. Having said this, between sports and military training his muscles are well defined. With a lack of any scars on his body, his skin is of lighter complexion and portrays a look of youth.

Personality

Tomas is of the strong and silent type. Although he tends to keep to himself at times, he emits a warm sense of friendliness and is easy to befriend. In combat situations, he is incredibly calm, possesses quick reflexes and is able to perform his duties with great efficiency.

History

Childhood

Having been born and raised on the Outer Rim world of Bastion, Tomas experienced a relatively normal childhood. School, friends, sports and family were the bulk of his life. His mother worked in research and development at a local pharmaceutical company, yet always seemed to be there to look after Tomas, and his siblings as they matured. With whatever free time that remained, Tomas would be sure to spend it with his father, Andre.

As part of the planet's security force there were often times when Andre would not be around for a week or so at time. When he was around, Andre would show Tomas the in's and out's of his profession. Tomas was eager to learn, as he intended to follow in his father's footsteps as a pilot, and hopefully one day have the chance to command his own ship.

Things went like this until well into his adolescence when forced to retreat yet again, the Empire decided to move their capital to Bastion. Tomas was around the age of sixteen at the time and had gained a lot of simulation experience with his father at the training facility. Tomas had heard stories of Imperial-controlled systems experiencing severe suppression, where the original inhabitants were ruled with an iron fist and were forced to live miserable lives. This however was not the case on Bastion. The citizens were given a comforting sense of protection and the quality of life on the planet only got better.

As a seasoned veteran, Andre was quickly recruited for a position within the Empire's defense division. At his father's advice, Tomas enrolled at the local military academy not long after his 18th birthday hoping it would bring him a step closer to his dream.

Imperial Academy

Although he excelled in his studies, the simulations and eventually the real-time piloting missions when given the chance, Tomas felt there was something lacking in his training. The instructors seemed to be frequently underestimating him...that is, when they recognized him. The impersonal atmosphere was unsettling for Tomas. He had heard news of a faction in the Rheagent/Vectra systems that seemed to better accommodate his needs. Unsatisfied with the academy's operation techniques and with an emotional farewell to his parents, Tomas packed his things and prepared for what the future would bring...
